The step-by-step guide for Tech4Students families in Qatar

Accidents happen. Spills during homework, a slip in the corridor, or a charger yanked out of the wall. The good news? Every Tech4Students package is built to get your child back to learning quickly, with clear repair options for every type of coverage.

Follow these steps as soon as you suspect damage.

1 - Stay calm and switch off safely

  1. Unplug the charger and any accessories.

  2. Power down the laptop or tablet.

  3. Skip DIY fixes tape on a cracked screen can void coverage.

Liquid spill? Hold the device upright and blot, never shake or dry with heat.

If your child finds it easier, they can simply hand the damaged device to the school’s IT or front office instead of logging the issue themselves. A staff member will:

  1. Record the fault in the Tech4Students portal on your behalf.

  2. Provide a loan laptop immediately (if required).

  3. Arrange collection of the damaged device for repair.

2 - Log the issue in the Parent Portal

Open the Tech4Students portal (link in your welcome e-mail or school site) and:

  • Choose “Report a Fault.”

  • Select the student’s device (serial pre-filled).

  • Describe what happened and add a photo if possible.

You’ll receive a case number instantly by e-mail.

3 - Collect a loan device. No classroom downtime

  • Minor software issues may be fixed remotely.

  • Physical damage or hardware failure: the school administration issues a loan laptop the same day, already connected to the school network.

  • You’ll get e-mail confirmation of the loan and estimated repair time.

4 - Prepare the damaged laptop for pickup

Within 48 hours a Tech4Students courier/technician collects the device from school (or home during holidays). Please:

  1. Remove personal stickers/covers.

  2. Back up local files if possible (OneDrive, USB).

  3. Include the charger only if the portal instructions request it.

Bottom line: whether you log the ticket online or your child walks the laptop straight to the Tech Hub, the repair process starts right away and learning time is protected.

5 - Understand your coverage and the paid-repair option
