Many off-the-shelf devices aren’t built for education, and repairs, replacements, and setup can quickly become overwhelming. Tech4Students solves this by partnering with your school to offer pre-configured laptops that meet their exact requirements, protected against damage and ready from day one, with support during term time and holidays.

How does the programme work?

Your school selects approved devices and service plans. Families log in to the school’s portal, choose the recommended package and accessories, and complete checkout. We prepare and deliver the device to the student, provide support, and handle warranty and repairs during the plan term.

Question 3

Who pays for the device and service plan?

Accepted Answer

Funding can be parent-funded, school-funded, or a co-funded mix, depending on what your school has enabled. The portal clearly shows pricing and available options at checkout.

Why don’t you offer a 1-year service option?

Most hardware issues, accidental damage claims, and wear and tear occur over longer periods. Our 2–4 year plans cover the device’s educational lifecycle, including warranty, accidental damage where applicable, and support with loan devices during repairs. A 1-year plan would deliver less value and weaker learning continuity.

Question 5

How long should a student laptop last?

Three years is typically the sweet spot for performance, battery life, and reliability in school use. A fourth year is often possible, but the highest value—and our service scope—centres on the first three years to keep learning uninterrupted.

What’s included in the service?

Education-grade device aligned to school requirements, preparation and configuration, warranty management, accidental damage coverage where included by the school, helpdesk support, and a loan device during covered repairs.

Question 7

Is theft covered?

Accepted Answer

Theft coverage depends on your selected plan and what the school has enabled. Some plans include accidental damage only; others may include theft insurance. The portal specifies what is covered for your school.

Question 8

What happens if the device needs repair?

Log a ticket through the portal. We arrange repair through authorised channels. Where your plan includes it, we provide a loan device during repair to keep learning on track.

Question 9

When do I receive the official invoice and documents?

You receive a payment receipt immediately after checkout. The official invoice (and insurance document where applicable) is generated once the device is handed over to the student so that warranty starts from delivery.

Question 10

What payment methods are available?

Typically card and bank transfer. Bank transfer orders include a time limit for completing payment; if not received in time, the order may be cancelled automatically. Some schools also allow an employer billing option—check the portal for availability.

Question 11

Can my employer be invoiced directly?

If enabled by your school, you can request employer billing. You’ll provide employer details at checkout or a pre-authorisation code from the school finance team. The school invoices the employer and reconciles payment.

How is my child’s data and privacy protected?

Devices are configured to the school’s standards with student safety in mind. Data is processed in line with the school’s privacy policy and applicable regulations. See the privacy section on the portal for details.

Can we use our own (BYOD) device instead?

BYOD policies vary by school. The Tech4Students device ensures compatibility, support, and rapid repair with loan coverage. If your school permits BYOD, check their requirements carefully to avoid learning disruptions.
